General Advising & Custom Programs

Some families need ongoing access without a fixed program structure — a retainer arrangement for general advising, a custom scope that doesn't fit a standard tier, or program modifications mid-cycle due to injury, academic shifts, or changing timelines. All of that is on the table. Start with a discovery call and we'll figure out what makes sense.

Real Interest vs.
Polite Interest.

Coaches are trained communicators. Most families can't read the signals — we can. That difference changes everything about how you spend your time and energy.

✦ Signs of Real Interest
Signs of Polite Interest
Coach initiates contact unprompted after reviewing film
"Thanks for reaching out, keep us updated"
Offers specific feedback on technique or scheme fit
No specific feedback — just "looks good"
Invites your athlete to an official or unofficial visit
Directs you to camp with no personal invitation
Asks for academic profile — GPA, test scores, AI
Consistent responses that never escalate
Mentions roster needs and how your athlete fills a gap
Has never asked about your athlete's academics
References your last conversation by name
Keeps you in the loop but never moves you forward

We know how to turn polite interest into real conversations — and real conversations into invitations. That's what 14 years inside these programs teaches you.

What Families Ask
Before Saying Yes.

Honest answers. No sales spin.

What's the difference between the Recruiting Audit and the free discovery call?
The discovery call is 15 minutes — I tell you honestly where your son stands and whether we're the right fit. The Recruiting Audit is a deep-dive: I review his film, run his Academic Index against your target schools, audit his social media, and give you a written report with a clear action plan. It's the foundation every placement program is built on.
If I do the Recruiting Audit first, how does the credit work?
Simple — the full audit fee comes off the price of whichever placement program you choose. You're not paying twice. The audit just lets us both make a more informed decision before committing to a full program.
What exactly is a stage call and how long does it take?
Stage calls are 45–60 minute strategy sessions timed to the real recruiting calendar — before outreach season, before camp season, before official visits, before offer season. We're not meeting just to meet. Every call has a purpose and a deliverable.
Who does the actual work — is it Coach Cahill directly?
Yes. I work directly with every family. There's no junior staff, no outsourced outreach, no templates handed off to an assistant. That's part of why I take a limited number of families at a time.
What does "3.5+ GPA required" mean — is my son disqualified if he's close?
It means we work exclusively with athletes targeting high-academic programs — Ivy, NESCAC, Patriot League. A 3.5 is a rough minimum because most of these schools won't look hard at anything below it. If your son is close, book the call — context matters and there are exceptions worth discussing.
What if the audit comes back and the news isn't good?
That's exactly why we do it. I'd rather tell you the truth in October than have you spend a year chasing schools that were never going to offer. If the audit reveals gaps — athletically, academically, or on film — I'll tell you what's fixable and on what timeline. Sometimes the best outcome is a recalibrated school list.
What happens if a coach goes cold mid-program?
It happens. We adjust. I help you read why it happened — was it a roster change, a position switch, a budget issue? — and we redirect to programs with real interest. The stage-based structure means we're always evaluating the landscape, not just executing a fixed script.
